1. How often should the Domes be changed?
If the Dome is not replaced from time to time it may
become clogged with wax. Replace whenever needed.
For most users this will be once every one or two
months. A package of Domes is enclosed with the
device. Advise your clients how they can obtain replace-
ment domes.
2. When should I change the NoWax in the
Receiver unit?
Visually inspect the noWax filter for debris. Replace if
debris is present or no sound is coming from the device.
See noWax package for instructions. Oticon recom-
mends that the Hearing Care Professional replaces the
noWax filter.
3. How often should the WaxStop in custom
RITE Moulds be changed?
The WaxStop should be changed whenever needed. For
most users this will be once a month. If the client
complains that there is no sound, replace the WaxStop
first.
4. Why does the Receiver unit need two different wax
filter systems when using a Custom Mould?
The noWax on the Receiver unit is part of the locking
mechanism for RITE Moulds and does not need to be
changed or removed. The WaxStop on the Custom
Mould provides protection from cerumen. The client
needs only change the WaxStop.
5. How frequently should the Receiver unit be
changed?
The Receiver unit is designed to function for a long
time – several years if properly maintained. Replacing
the Dome on a regular basis will help the Receiver last
longer. The Receiver is an integral part of the device and
should be removed or
replaced if broken. The user
should not remove the Receiver.
6. Can Receivers from Agil, Dual, EPOQ, VIGO or HIT be
fitted to Oticon Intiga?
no, Oticon Intiga comes with a new Receiver concept
with a curved shape and flexible wire to improve a
discreet and cosmetic fitting.
