CARTILAGE INDICATIONS FOR USE
• Articular cartilage defect repair needing unicompartmental load
reduction or range of movement restriction.
• Cartilage knee trauma benefiting from unloading or movement
restriction and needing pain relief.
• May also be beneficial for other unicompartmental knee conditions
that require unloading, movement restriction and pain relief such as:
– Meniscal repair.
– Avascular necrosis.
– Condylar bone marrow lesions (bone bruises)
• Circumference limitation.
– Thigh circumferences smaller than 13.5" (34.3 cm) or larger than
29" (73.5 cm).
– Calf circumferences smaller than 10" (25 cm) or larger than 24"
(61.5 cm).
CAUTION
• For patients with symptomatic popliteal cyst, peripheral vascular
disease, neuropathy, and sensitive skin, close physician supervision is
recommended. For patients with sensitive skin, it is recommended to
use the Rebound
®
Cartilage as tolerated. If redness appears decrease
the usage of the brace. Increase usage slowly as the skin tolerates
the brace.

Cartilage is field adaptable to accommodate patient
comfort issues. Modifications to flexion or extension stops, hinge and
shell contour should only be made by the health care professional.
The healthcare professional is responsible for advising patient on use
of the Cartilage Protection Strap.
INITIAL APPLICATION AND ADJUSTMENT
1. Place the brace on patient‘s leg. Align the center of hinge at mid
patella and midline of A/P.
