FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
The length of the brace is preset at 18" (45,72 cm) overall. It is important
for the healthcare provider to adjust the brace length in order to provide
optimal stabilization of the knee. This can be done while the straps
remain buckled.
1. To determine brace length, position the brace alongside the affected
leg with the hinge axis at the level of mid patella.
Note:
The length of the upper hinge arms should extend no higher
than 5 cm from the level of the groin. The lower hinge arms should
extend no lower than the calf/Achilles tendon junction.
2. To adjust the length of the hinge arms,
a. Rotate length adjustment lever one-half turn (180 degrees) to the
unlocked position.
b. Slide the hinge arm to the desired length.
c. Then rotate length adjustment lever back to the locked position.
3. Repeat this adjustment for all hinge arm assemblies. Verify that all
hinge arms are now in the locked position.
4. After the brace is set at the correct length, unbuckle the straps. The
Brace Expander (H) will cause the brace to open flat allowing you to
place the brace under the patient’s leg using one hand while
supporting the leg with the other hand.
5. Place the brace under the patient’s leg.
6. To adjust straps, disengage velcro on foam pad from strap and
expose white hook.
7. Pull the uprights apart. (This detaches one side of the brace expander
