The next section, Daily Shelf Items, has five separate items that let you fine-tune
what appears on the Daily Shelf: “Recommendations from friends,” “LendMe
offers from friends,” “Recently opened Library items,” “Recent issues of each
Newspaper,” and “Recent issues of each Magazine.” Turn off the boxes on the
first three items if you don’t want them to appear on the Daily Shelf. For the final
two items, tap the down arrow to choose how many recent issues of newspaper
and magazines you want to show up. Out of the box, you see only one, but you
can instead choose to display two, three, all, or none.
The next section, More Menu Options, varies according to which apps you have
installed. For example, your Netflix account, if you have one, shows up here. Tap
it if you want to unlink your NOOK from your Netflix account, which means you
can’t watch Netflix from that particular account.

Here’s where you go to customize the way the NOOK Store works:
• Require Password for Purchases.
Normally, you don’t need to type a pass-
word when you buy anything in the NOOK Store. However, if you’re worried
that a child or another family member may go to town using your credit
card, or if you want to make yourself think twice before buying something,
tap here and then enter a password. After that, the password is required
any time someone tries to make a purchase on your NOOK.
• Manage Credit Card. Tap here to add a credit card to your NOOK if you
haven’t already, or to change the credit card you already have. (You can
use only one credit card at a time on the NOOK Tablet.)
