 ] SET-UP

SET-UP is divided into three sections, GENERAL, SECURITY and DIGITIZER.

Under GENERAL, you can set the key tone on or off, that is the small sound you hear when tapping the screen.
Set the AUTO OFF time you prefer using the arrow up and down keys to set the minutes from 1 to 10.
You can also adjust the contrast of the screen. Tap LIGHT or DARK to make the contrast lighter or darker.
Tap ENTER to confirm and the PDA will then store these settings.

Under SECURITY, you can set a secret record lock to prevent unauthorized access to your records in
CONTACT, SCHEDULE, MEMO, PAINT and OWNER, as well as a format lock to prevent the database
from being reformatted when the RESET button is pressed.
To set a record or format lock, tap on the circle next to the lock you want to set. The PDA asks you to enter
a new password using the QWERTY keyboard and then to confirm it. The password will be saved when
you exit SECURITY.

Your PDA will then ask you whether you want to set a secret question in case you forget your password. If
you tap NO, the PDA returns to the SECURITY screen and saves the password. CLEAR PASSWORD
appears at the bottom of the screen. If you tap YES, the PDA asks you to input a question using one of the
inputting methods described above. After you have input the question, the PDA asks you to input the
answer. Once you have done that, the password will be set. CLEAR PASSWORD appears at the bottom of
the SECURITY screen.

When you want to remove the lock, tap on the circle next to the unlocked icon. The PDA will ask you to
enter your password. It will delete the password and set the PDA to UNLOCK (a dot appears in the circle
next to the unlocked padlock).

You can also set a password by tapping on SET PASSWORD at the bottom of the SECURITY screen. If a
password has already been set, CLEAR PASSWORD appears at the bottom of the screen. To clear the
password, tap on CLEAR PASSWORD and then input the password. The PDA will delete the password,
and SET PASSWORD will then appear at the bottom of the SECURITY screen.

Use DIGITIZER to calibrate the touch screen of the PDA, that is how the PDA recognizes your inputs
when you tap the screen with the stylus. The PDA will ask you to tap the stylus on a series of targets.
