the PPP settings before you can make 
a connection to your Optimod  

Although you did not 
specifically install any-
thing that states “PPP,” 
the PPP protocol has nev-
ertheless been installed.

Configure the Direct Cable Connection adapter. 

In this step, you will customize the PPP settings on Windows 7 so that it can talk 
to your Optimod.
