Install the Drive Backplane

Reconnect the auxiliary signal cable to the drive backplane (panel 3).

If the server has a DVD drive, reconnect the power and DVD data

connections to the drive backplane (panel 4).

“Install a DVD Drive” on page 142

Reconnect the power cable to the drive backplane (panel 5).

If present, reconnect the two optional NVMe cables to the storage drive

backplane (panel 5).

Reconnect the two SAS cables to the drive backplane from the motherboard

(panel 6).

Return the server to operation.

If removed, install the fan modules.

Install the fan cover, and close the fan door.

Fully install all storage drives you disengaged or removed.

Return the server to the normal operating position.

Reconnect the power cords to the power supplies, and power on the server.

Verify that the power supply AC OK LED is lit.

Note -

Authorized service personnel might need to reprogram the product serial number on

the drive backplane. This number is used for service entitlement and warranty coverage. The

correct product serial number is located on a label on the front of the chassis.
