Troubleshooting
If you have any trouble, consult the following list.
The power to the system is not turned on.
• Make sure that the power cable is plugged into the AC outlet.
• Make sure that the multi-splitter cable is securely connected to the subwoofer and
the SUBWOOFER CONTROL connector on the rear panel of the PR-155X.
19
• Unplug the power cable from the AC outlet, wait for five seconds or more, then plug the cable in again.
The power is turned off during the operation.
• If the TIMER indicator is lit on the display, the timer is functioning. Cancel the timer.
56
• The PR-155X enters Standby mode after the timer playback or recording is complete.
The sound is not heard.
• Make sure that the subwoofer’s power cable is plugged to the AC outlet.
• Make sure that the multi-splitter cable is connected correctly.
Make sure that you do not mix the SUBWOOFER CONTROL jack on PR-155X’s rear panel
with the
jack.
19
• Make sure that the speakers are connected correctly and the speaker cables’ core wires touch
the speaker connectors.
20
• Make sure that the correct input source is selected.
You need to select the connected component as the input source.
32
• Check to see if the volume level is set to minimum.
• Check the digital output setting on the connected component. The default digital output setting on some DVD-compati-
ble game components may be turned off.
• The speakers do not output sound if the headphones are connected.
34
• The optical cable may be bent or damaged.
• Check to see if the muting function is working.
If the MUTING indicator is flashing, the sound is muted. Cancel the muting function.
34
• Check the output setting on the connected playback component.
• Make sure that the component is connected via the correct input jacks.
22–25
• Make sure that the input setting on the connected component is correct.
Sound from the connected turntable is very soft.
• Check to see if the turntable has an internal phono equalizer. If it does not have a phono equalizer, obtain an optional
one.
Playing a record on the turntable does not produce sound.
• If you are using a turntable with an MC cartridge, you will need a transformer or head amplifier to boost the voltage, and
a phono equalizer.
About DTS signals
• If you play a CD or LD that features DTS signals through the analog connectors, the DTS signals will be played without
any conversion, resulting in noise. This noise could damage the unit and/or speakers. Be sure to play any such CD or LD
through the DIGITAL INPUT connector.
• Some CDs or LDs may not play DTS signals correctly even through the digital connection. If the DTS data on such
discs have been processed (e.g., output level adjustment, sampling frequency conversion, frequency response conver-
sion, etc.), the unit may be unable to interpret such data as standard DTS data, and may output noise as a result.
• While you are playing a disc that features DTS signals, if you pause or skip tracks on the CD or LD player, noise may be
generated for a short period of time. This is not a malfunction.
The HTC-V10X is designed to offer the best performance when you use a subwoofer SWA-V10X, and
speakers ST-V10X, and an AV controller PR-155X. Onkyo does not guarantee the performance and is not
responsible for malfunctions caused by using other speakers or amplifiers.
