6.2  Installation and Removal of the Blade

Always wear approved safety gloves when handling the blade. For operator safety and to 
protect the edge of the blade, always use the magnetic blade protector when handling the 
blade, as it is extremely sharp. 

For shipping and storage, blades should be bolted into wooden sheaths. 

Before installing a blade, make sure that the surface of the blade holder is clean and has been 
lightly coated with oil to prevent rust. The blade should also be clean where it attaches to the 
blade holder and coated with oil.
