Activate SPRINTER wireless module
Connection to the power supply
Before you connect the SPRINTER system to the power supply, the cash register and the printer should
both be turned on. Plug the adapter into the powersocket. Then connect the adapter with the power
supply connection on the module.
A self-test starts automatically. The green LED and the red LED blink once. If no errors are
found, the green LED lights up and the other LEDs are off. The system is now ready for use! If
an error occurs, all LEDs blink on and off and you hear a long beeping sound. Disconnect the
module from the electricity supply and then reconnect it with the electricity supply. If the error
is still present, contact a specialized dealer, if the error is no longer present, you can carry on
with the registration process.
Registering the POS module
In order to guarantee the correct operation, all POS modules have to be registered with every KP module
before they can be used. Every POS module has its own and unalterable ID, which is appointed at the
factory. This ID must be registered at the KP modules, as here described. All POS modules should be
registered singly and one after the other.
Before beginning the registration, all POS and KP modules should be ready for use (e.g. not in the
process of printing).
i)
Set all third DIP switches on all KP modules to “ON” in order to get into the register mode. All
LEDs on the KP module blink on and off and you hear 2 beeping sounds. At the same time the
printer ID and the current registration list is printed out on the printer.
ii)
Hold down the button “LEARN” on the POS module until you hear 2
beeping sounds.
iii)
After releasing the button, the POS module is in registration mode. All
LEDs blink on and off.
iv)
The ID of the POS module is sent automatically to all KP modules. If the registration with a KP
module was successful, then the corresponding LED lights up. When the registration process is
finished (after approx. 10 seconds), you hear 2 beeping sounds.
v)
If the registration does not complete successfully, repeat the steps described.
vi)
To return to the registration mode, press the “LEARN” button again.
The green LED lights up and all the red LEDs are out.
vii)
Repeat the steps (iii) to (vi) for each module to register further POS Modules with the KP module.
viii)
When all the POS modules have been registered with the KP module, set the third DIP switch on
the KP module back to the “OFF“ position in order to return to operation mode. As a control, the
printer ID and the updated registration lists are printed out on the printer.
Detailed settings are described in the instructions for the SPRINTER module.
