What to do if the heat detectors raise an alarm
■
Keep calm.
■
Always assume that is a real emergency situation.
Proceed as follows if a smell, smoke or fire has developed in the area being monitored:
■
You and others at risk must move away from the danger area. Keep near the floor
if there is an excessive development of heat and, if possible, hold a damp cloth in
front of your mouth and nose. Follow the escape routes indicated, if necessary.
Close all doors and windows which can be accessed to prevent the smoke and fire
spreading further.
■
Inform the fire service using the emergency number 112. Remain calm and
answer the questions: Who is calling? What has happened? Are there any injured
persons? What types of injuries have occurred? Wait for instructions.
■
Try and extinguish the initial fires using the appropriate extinguishing agents
available, such as fire extinguishers and fire blankets. However, never put your
-
self and others at risk.
