The red LEDs light up, but nothing else happens.
Option 1:
You’ve not pressed the Power button for long enough. This power saving feature is to prevent your
camera from accidentally turning on when in your pocket etc. You need to press and hold the power button for 3
seconds to turn your camera on properly. You will know it’s turning on because the welcome graphic will appear.
Option 2:
If the LEDs fade in and out, or remain static, you may have damaged your Olfi. When the camera
suffers an extreme knock, or has been damaged by water, the first tell tail sign will be the screen, the next tell
tail sign will be activation of the internal wetness indictors if the damage is caused by water.
Option 3:
Your Olfi has frozen. With the camera on, remove the battery to instantly reset your device. If this
doesn’t work, try re-installing the latest firmware (www.olfi.co.uk/downloads/)
Press the Power/Mode button on the top of the camera right next to the Shutter/OK button until you get to the
Mode selection screen. Scroll down using the Up and Down buttons on the side of the camera to see more
Mode options.
Any certified micro USB wall charger with an output of 300mA to 1A is recommended. Anything above 2A might
charge the battery too fast and may dramatically shorten its life, or cause the battery to expand.
Alternatively, you may also use the USB ports of your computer.
The blinking hand symbol means that your Gyro Stabilizer is on. It works by analysing movements of your
camera and compensates to keep the video less shaky.
Unless otherwise instructed, your camera will go into screen saving mode after 1 minute of inactivity (even
when recording) – the camera will still record but the screen will be off. Also your camera is set to turn off with
complete inactivity (not recording) after 3 minutes to save power. You can change these settings by going into
the
Setup menu
and scrolling to
Screensaver
and
Auto Power Off
.
This usually occurs when your battery is at a critically low level. Charge your battery.
When you remove the battery for longer than 20 seconds, or if you remove the battery when the camera is on,
your Olfi will reset the time and date. This is similar to a phone, and is a handy feature if your camera ever
freezes on you, but, unlike a mobile phone, your Olfi doesn’t create a signal to re-update these settings when
you put the battery back in.
If you’ve inserted your memory card into your computer reader and nothing shows then there are a number of
things you can try.
a) Update the drivers on your computer
b) Clean your SD card metal contacts and/or card reader adapter contacts with a soft lint free cloth
c) Check you haven’t somehow disabled the reader on your computer

Why doesn’t my Olfi power on when I press the power button?
How do I change Modes on my Olfi one.five?
What charger should I use to charge my Olfi?
It could be 1 of 3 things:
1. Your Player
a)
Sometimes certain video formats are not playable on your PC.
This is because the appropriate video codec is not installed.
b)
An out-dated video player - Your media player may need updating.
Take a look at the company’s website and check for updates.
2. Your Computer may not be fast enough to play high res footage:
Example - For 1080p/30fps, your computer requires the following, as a minimum requirement:
Processor: 2.4 Ghz Dual Core Processor, Graphics Card: 256 MB VRAM, 600Mhz Core Clock
and RAM: 4 GB
3.Your memory card
Check the validity of your memory card. We recommend that if you’re having particular problems with
playback on multiple devices, and the options above have been discounted as the issue, download a
Memory card speed checker to ensure that you have a card with the minimum read and write speed
requirements. Also check your card for fractures.
