Chapter Product Accessory: I. Second Paper Feed
2.1 General Mechanism
The sheet at the very top of the stack in the paper cassette is fed into the printer, one sheet at a time,
when the High Capacity Second Paper Feeder receives the signal from the printer.
(1) First, the hopping motor rotates in the direction of arrow A. The hopping gear is turned, via the idle
gear, and the roller C on the same shaft is also turned. At the same time, the planet gear D' moves in the
direction of the arrow E, and roller G turns; the paper is fed for a predesignated distance until its leading
edge reaches roller G.
(2) Next, the hopping motor rotates in the direction of arrow B. While the hopping gear also turns at the
same time, (due to the one-way bearing being engaged at the hopping gear), the roller C does not turn.
The planet gear D' moves in the direction of the arrow F, drives the Roller G and feeds the paper into the
printer, until it reaches the registration roller of the printer.
Once the delivered into the printer, the paper is then controlled and fed through by the registration motor
of the printer.
