3.5 Replacing the Auxiliary Display’s Printed Circuit Board
The Auxiliary Display is an optional accessory. If its PCB fails, it must be replaced.
1. Remove the four screws in the bottom
of the Housing.
2. Separate the top and bottom halves of
Housing.
3. Lift out the PCB.
4. Unsolder the three wires on the bottom
connecting the PCB to the RS232
Interface.

5. Solder the three wires removed in step 4 to the new PCB, and install it, following steps
1 – 3 in reverse.
3.6 Setting/Removing Legal-For-Trade (Only in TAG and SE models)
TAG and SE models of the Traveler can be used in Legal-For-Trade (LFT) mode,
after
being
inspected and sealed in accordance with local weights and measures or approval agency
regulations. If the scale is serviced and the LFT seal is broken, it must be re-inspected and
re-sealed to be Legal For Trade.
Note:
The Scale must be calibrated
prior
to LFT setup.
LFT mode is set through a menu setting and a hardware Calibration Lock Tab located on the
PC Board. (Access to this switch may be denied by local weights and measures or approval
agency, by inserting a seal cable between the red hook on the Calibration Lock Tab, and its
white counterpart next to the locked position.) Follow these steps to set the scale for LFT mode:
1. Calibrate the scale. (See Appendix A.) Note that after selecting LFT mode and setting
the Calibration Lock Tab, the scale cannot be calibrated, and some menus and units
may not be accessible.
2. Access the Setup Menu by pressing and holding the
On-Zero/Off
button continuously
during power-on, until
SETUP
appears. Then press
Yes
, and press
No
continuously
until
LFT
appears. Then press
Yes
. (The LFT option only appears on TAG and HC
models. Other Traveler models are not rated for LFT mode.)
To take the scale out of LFT mode, the mechanical seal must be broken and the LFT
switch position reversed. All menus will then be accessible. After the LFT seal is
broken for service, it must be re-inspected and re-sealed to be Legal For Trade.
3.7 Replacing the Function Label
The Function Label may need to be replaced, due to wear. Use a broad blade, such as a razor
blade, to remove the label. Clean the glue residue from the Housing surface. Then carefully
place the new label where the old one was.
