Appliance installation
1 Corner panel
2 Pipe entry points (perforated plate)
9.3 Connecting the heat sink system
Note
The hydraulic connection from the heat sink system
(WNA) to the heat pump may be made only by a
qualified contractor.
Note
For maintenance purposes, a shut-off valve should
be fitted to every hydraulic line close to the connec
-
tion point on the heat pump.
►
The pipework and the pumps should be correctly
sized for your heating system and according to the
technical data for your heat pump.
►
A (manual) air vent valve must be fitted at the highest
point in the pipework.
►
At the lowest point in the pipework, fit a drain pipe to
allow the system to be drained.
►
Ensure that no foreign bodies (dust, dirt, etc.) can en-
ter the pipework.
►
When using surface heating systems (e.g. underfloor
heating, wall heating), provide an appropriate high
limit safety cut-out. In the event of a fault, this will di-
rectly interrupt the heating circulation pump.
►
A heating protection filter must be installed in the re
-
turn line of the heat pump to catch dirt.
Note
A heavily soiled heating protection filter can lead
to a high pressure safety shutdown or a fault shut-
down based on flow metering (heat sink).
»
Ensure that the heating protection filter is easy
to clean for maintenance purposes.
Note
Ensure that the flow velocity in the pipework does
not exceed 0.8 m/s, as this can cause increased
noise emissions.
Material damage
An insufficient flow rate can cause damage to the
heat pump system.
»
When sizing the heat pump, make sure that
the flow rate does not fall below the minimum
level in any operating mode (DHW charging,
heating, cooling mode via separate cooling/
heat pump/buffer tank, etc.).
(See page 52,
»
Install suitable circuit balancing valves to regu-
late the system appropriately.
9.3.1 Connecting the heating system
»
Before connecting the heat pump, flush the pipework
through with filtered flushing water according to the
relevant standards. Foreign bodies such as rust,
sealing material and swarf will impair the operational
reliability of the heat pump.
»
Make the appropriate connections from the indoor
unit heating water flow and heating water return to the
heating system.
1
Heating water flow
2 Heating water return
»
Ensure that the connection is tight.
»
When installing pipework, take care to prevent trans-
mission of vibration noise.
