OMC-045-II
6.6 Sending the log file
By sending data through FTP the data that is going to be send can be filtered to some data. With this, the
system messages and X records can be removed to limit the data traffic. Keep in mind, when filtering
data, there isn’t always data send over the FTP connection. This goes wrong when filtering data as long
as the maximum FTP idle time no data is been send to the FTP server. If the timeout time is set on 2 min
and the OMC-045-II only finds X and S records in that time, it goes wrong. These messages only have
header information.
6.7 Data
buffer
The data buffer contains all recent read and calculated data. All tasks in the OMC-045-II use the general
data buffer to published measured and calculated data.
The data buffer is divided through a memory map. OMC-Programmer asks the memory map to display all
actual data on screen, with the right name and unit.

More about the memory map is available in the appendix about the e-mail format. The memory map is set
on the start of every e-mail and ftp file.
For the output and editing tasks, use the status of the used data to control if the data is useful.
