6. Heart Rate Mode
How to get a heart rate reading
• Wear the watch around your wrist.
• Press and hold simultaneously upper contact S1
with your middle finger and lower button S2 with
your index. Back contact S3 should be in firm
contact with your skin.
• Icons ‘ ’ and ‘ ‘ will appear and flash.
• Hold that position for 5 to 8 seconds until you hear
a beep and heart rate reading is displayed.
• The reading will be displayed for 5 seconds after
you removed your fingers before the watch automa-
tically exits the heart rate mode.
• It is recommended to clean your wrist and your
fingers with soap and water for a better signal
transmission. If your skin is very dry,
moistening fingers and wrist with water,
saliva or conductive gel (available at you
local pharmacy) may help. In any case, do
not use hand cream as it will insulate the
signal between the skin and the contacts.
NOTE: If long response time or no heart rate
reading, check for possible causes and
solutions in chapter 7 ‘Potential causes for no
heart reading or long response time’.
Heart rate zone alert function

objective heartbeat zone. The heartbeat zone consists of settable upper and lower limits
expressed in Beats Per Minute (BPM).
• The Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) is calculated by this watch using the formula
