OBH Nordica Belgium waffle
Before use
Before the waffle iron is used for the first time, read the instructions for use carefully and save
them for future use.
Unwind the cord. Clean the plates with a damp cloth and grease them with fat before you use
the appliance for the first time. The first 2-4 waffles should not be eaten.
Use
Plug the appliance to an outlet, the red pilot lamp lights. Set the temperature by pushing the
temperature knob under the handle to the right for higher temperature and to the left for lower
temperature. We recommend that you test different settings till you find the right one for your
personal taste. When the selected temperature is reached the green pilot lamp will light. The
appliance is ready for use.
Frying
Open the handle by pressing the locking button on the underside of the upper handle. Pour the
batter in the middle of the lower plates and spread it evenly with a spatula. Note that Belgium
waffles raises more than regular waffles so do not add too much batter. Close the handles
and press until they lock. The green pilot lamp will turn on and off during use, this is normal.
Frying time
The frying time depends on the batter and how well fried you want the waffles. When you think
your waffles are ready, open the handles by pressing the locking button on the underside of the
upper handle. Note that the steam can be very hot. Remove the waffles with a plastic or wooden
utensil (metal can damage the coating). Place the waffles on a grid to keep the crispness.
Cleaning
Always remove the plug from the outlet after use and before cleaning. Never clean the appliance
when plugged in. Let the iron cool. Never immerse the appliance or its cord in water or any
other liquid.
Use a damp sponge and mild detergent for cleaning of the plates. Never use sharp objects
to clean the plates since the coating can be damaged. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth.
