About DirectStylus
Your Tegra NOTE 7 has a built-‐in stylus that launches specified
apps when pulled from its’ Tegra NOTE 7 housing. The stylus has a
chisel tip that is shaped like a highlighter pen tip and can be used
to easily create thin and thick lines, allowing you to switch from
writing fine lines to bold strokes all with a twist of the stylus. The
application must have variable line thickness support in order to experience
dynamically changing stroke widths.
When the stylus is removed from the tablet, the DirectStylus app is launched to display specific user-‐defined apps.
Go to
NVIDIA DirectStylus Launcher
starting on page 21 for more information.
System-level Touch Lockout
System-‐level touch lockout is a user-‐controlled option that disables the touch-‐screen sensitivity so
that when using the stylus your wrist/palm touching the screen is not registered. Tegra NOTE 7 only
recognizes the DirectStylus interaction with the screen. When enabled, the tablet does low-‐level
filtering of all touch events other than pen and eraser. This is a feature not currently offered on
competing devices.
Tegra NOTE 7 automatically disables touch lockout mode when you manually put your tablet to sleep using the
power button. The mode is also
temporarily
disabled if you store your stylus back into the tablet. When you
remove the stylus from your tablet, the previous lockout mode is restored.
Putting your tablet to sleep using the power button is a built-in safeguard to disable touch
lockout in case you misplace your stylus after enabling touch lockout mode.
