4.2.2 Receive a Distress Call

When you receive a distress call from a ship

in distress, the audio alarm sounds, and the

LED of the

DISTRESS

button flashes. The

icon for DISTRESS receiving (

)

appears in the tab area.

Click

CLICK

to silence the audio alarm.

Wait for the distress acknowledgement from
a coast station.

If you do not receive the distress acknowledgement from a coast station in about 5 minutes after receiving a distress
call, please follow the flow charts in this section to determine your action.

Note: An asterisk (*) appearing in a distress alert message indicates an error at the asterisk’s location.
