Programming Softpatch
Step One - SELECT MAXIMUM DIMMERS
Determine how many dimmer channels are required. The MIDI 616 can be configured to patch 16, 32,
48, or 64 dimmer channels. Most situations will only require 16 dimmer channels. Response with low
wattage lamps may become sluggish if more than 32 dimmer channels are selected.
To configure the number of dimmer channels, enter the Configuration Mode of the MIDI 616. The 16
channel level slide controls double as Configuration Mode switches. To access the Configuration Mode,
perform the following steps:
1. Move all slide controls to minimum.
2.
Hold both the GO and BACK button down while pressing the MEMORY 3 button. The
MEMORY 3 LED will flash.
3. The channel level LEDs now display the current condition of all 16 Configuration Mode
switches.
4. Move all slide controls with their corresponding LEDs on to maximum to preserve the state of
the switches.
5. Press the PROGRAM button and move the channel 15 and 16 slide controls to minimum or
maximum (LEDs off or on) as desired in order to activate the configuration changes as listed
below.
6. When finished with Configuration Mode, tap the BLACKOUT button to save the new
configuration in memory.
The number of dimmer channels 'is selected by the positions of the channel level slide controls for
channels 15 and 16 in the following manner:
