4.3 Slide the sliding jaws onto the press fitting so that the adaptors fully
grip behind the fitting collar and sleeve. Close sliding jaws using the
ball handle.
Note!
Ensure that the press fitting and the pipe rest against the bottom of
the groove on the adaptors, as shown. The edge of the sliding jaws
indicated in the drawing must lie parallel to the pipe or press fitting.
Non-observance results in faulty or leaky press fittings.
Ensure that there is no dirt, swarf etc. in the contours of the sliding
jaws.
Non-compliance will result in incorrect press-fittings.
4.4 Press-fitting.
Warning!
The press tool must be held in the upright position for the entire
press-fitting procedure; to do this also hold the sliding jaws
securely at the ball handle.
Danger of crushing by moving parts
Keep any body parts or foreign objects away from the guide rod
and guide.
4.5 Release the sliding jaws from the press-fitting by pressing the ball
handle.

Taking out of service
5.1 Hold sliding jaws at the guide.
Note:
The sliding jaws could otherwise fall out of the press tool when the
retaining pin is opened.
5.2 Open retaining pin.
5.3 Pull out sliding jaws.
5.4 Remove
adaptors.
6. CLEANING
AND LUBRICATING
Regularly or when dirty:
•
Clean the entire adaptors with a solvent.
•
Clean the mounting contour of the adaptors with a solvent (e.g.
methylated spirits).
•
Remove deposits in the contour of the adaptors.
•
Clean the contour of the adaptors with a solvent.
•
Lubricate the pin of the sliding jaws and the locking device of
the adaptors using machine oil.
•
Grease guide and guide rod.
•
Spray the entire sliding jaws, adaptors with rust and corrosion
protection.
