NovaTec
Mobile Gateway S20
To deactivate the terminating resistors please follow these instructions:
Remove the selected module from the system. On the upper and lower corner of each front
panel is a flexible handle with a screw next to it. Loose this screw. You can then remove
the module by moving both handles outwards (see picture 30).
On each module (CCU, CCU-Light, CCU-3 and CAU only) there are several coding switches
which will enable you to deactivate or activate the terminating resistors for each interface.
These switches are grouped in blocks of four switches, whereby every pair of switches is
dedicated to one interface. This means that the switches numbered 1 and 2 form an interface
and the switches numbered 3 and 4 form another interface. The two switches for any
particular interface must always be set in the same position. When the switches are in the
“Off ” position the terminating resistors are deactivated.
The illustrations on pages 33 and 46 shows the position of these blocks of coding switches.
Next, please identify for which interface you must deactivate the terminating resistors.
Please use the illustrations on pages 33 and 46 to assist you in identifying and repositioning
the respective coding switches to the “Off ” position. The terminating resistors only have
to be deactivated when using a star-shaped installation (see page 56).
On delivery, all terminating resistors are activated.
