5.2 Start the measurement
When every sensor was checked and found to be working, as described in the previous section, the system
can be started by simply clicking the ‘Connect’ button:
When the instruments are connected, click the ‘Start measurement’ button. There will be a pop-up window
where you can set or verify the main measurement settings:

When entering new values in the edit boxes they are automatically checked, and if a setting is not
compatible with the connected sensor the edit box will be marked red and the ‘Start’ button will be disabled.

The salinity is 0 for fresh water and typically 35 ppt for
the ocean. This is used for automatic calculation of
sound-velocity.

Connected, the button is now
set to ‘Disconnect’
