9.1 Cable winding and
spring pre-tensioning
-Insert the cable stop in the drum slot.
-wind the cable by rotating the drum
until the cable is fully taut.
-Ensure that the cable stop has
correctly latched onto the drum.
-Use a vice, to grip the drum to prevent
it from rotating.
-Pre-tension the springs.
-Use a winding bar to tighten the spring
by 4 or 5 turns and secure it to the
shaft.
-Then remove the vice from the drum
and check that the cable is correctly
positioned.
