cable that is put in the fourth network interface on both NNPs.
2. Note that you should
not
connect the secondary NNP’s bridge interfaces to the switch yet, only the
admin interface must be connected to a switch for management purposes.
3. The intended secondary NNP must be set to
Block - all traffic will be blocked
as
“Operation mode” under
Scanner setting > Network options
(see page 39). If the NNP is
set to any other operation mode, this can create havoc in your network.
Cluster failover settings
1. At the Network Configuration menu select the 4th network card that is not set in a mode yet, and
choose “Cluster”. This must be done at both the primary NNP and the secondary NNP.
2. To enable cluster settings, select
Enable cluster failover
first at the primary NNP. Click
Apply
.
3. In the
Name
field you can enter a descriptive name for your cluster.
4. In the
Secret
field, enter a secret passphrase that cluster members can use for secure communi-
cation. Click
Apply
.
5. Verify cluster status on the Home page.
6. Repeat steps 1-3 for the secondary NNP node.
7. Your cluster failover should now be operative.
8. At the Home page the following information should now appear:

Advanced
In this section you can customize some advanced settings for your cluster setup. Unless you are
absolutely sure about changes you want to make, leave the default settings as they are suitable for
almost all network environments.
