Troubleshooting

This section contains troubleshooting procedures. These procedures
cover only the most common problems that you may encounter. If you
cannot solve the problem with the information given here, contact your
local Nordson representative for help.
Use the following charts to troubleshoot the spray gun.
Problem Possible Cause Corrective Action
1. Uneven pattern,
unsteady or inadequate
powder flow Low atomizing or flow rate air
pressure Increase the atomizing and/or flow rate
air pressures.
Blockage in the gun, powder feed
hose, or pump 1. Disconnect the powder feed hose
from the pump.
2. Blow out the hose with compressed
air.
3. Disassemble the gun and pump and
clean them.
4. Replace the powder feed hose if it is
clogged with fused powder.
Nozzle worn, affecting pattern 1. Remove, clean, and inspect the
nozzle.
2. Replace the nozzle if necessary.
3. If excessive wear or impact fusion is
a problem, reduce the flow rate and
atomizing air pressures.
