1. Perform a solvent flush.
2. Press the STOP key to begin the shutdown procedure.
WARNING: Always turn OFF the power to the heaters and
allow them to cool before shutting down the circulating pump.
Failure to do so could result in a fire or an explosion from the
overheated coating materials.
3. Turn OFF the power to the heaters (if used with your system). Do not
turn off the circulating pump until the material in the system has
cooled.
4. Reduce the pump air supply pressure to zero and shut OFF the
system air supply.
5. Shut OFF the CO
2
booster pump, if used.
6. Close the outlet and inlet manifold ball valves.
7. Trigger the gun(s) to relieve the line pressure and open/close the filter
drain-off valve.
8. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system.
9. Remove the gun(s) from the system and clean. Inspect the guns for
wear or damage.
Daily and periodic maintenance procedures are described below.
1. Follow the system maintenance checks outlined in the Nordson
UNICARB System manual(s).
2. Flush the gun with a solvent compatible with the coating material.
See your Nordson UNICARB System manual(s) for the solvent flush
procedures.
NOTE: The coating materials must be specially formulated for use in
this system. Contact your Nordson representative, the Union Carbide
Corporation, or your coatings formulator for a suitable coating.
3. Clean the nozzle following the procedure below:
a. Soak the nozzle in solvent. Use an electrostatic cleaner to loosen
cured material.
