Halogenated hydrocarbon solvents can be recognized if any of the
following elements are listed in the name of the product or as an
ingredient:

If you are now using halogenated hydrocarbon solvents in pressurized
systems with aluminum components, perform the following steps:
S
Pump the system empty, shut off the pumps, and relieve the system
pressure.
S
Disassemble and inspect the system components. Replace any
damaged or corroded parts.
S
Thoroughly clean all noncorroded parts with nonhalogenated
hydrocarbon.
S
Contact your coatings, solvent, or adhesive supplier for a
nonhalogenated solvent to thoroughly flush the entire system before
operating it.
S
If you must continue to use halogenated hydrocarbon solvents,
consult your Nordson representative about compatible Nordson
components.
