Issued 1/97
Manual 4-26
When the operator triggers the handgun, the trigger (1) forces the
puller (8) backward and the ball tip assembly (5) housed in the gun
extension (6) is pulled away from the seat (4). The coating material
enters through the connector (2), flows around the ball tip assembly, and
exits at the nozzle (3) where it is partially atomized.
The packing cartridge (7) is non-adjustable and must be replaced if
damaged or no longer functioning properly.
On recirculating models, the mixture of CO
2
and coating material(s) is
continuously recirculated through the handgun and back into the system.
This ensures an even spray pattern and reduces clogging.
WARNING: Before operating this system, make sure you have
read and understood all safety precautions, component
descriptions, and operating procedures covered in the
UNICARB System manual(s) and in this manual. Failure to
respond properly to certain conditions can result in equipment
damage and personal injury.
WARNING: High pressures are present in this system. High
pressure fluids and air are injection hazards. Do not place any
part of your body in front of the gun nozzle, drain ports, or any
leak in the system. Do not disconnect any air or hydraulic
fittings without first relieving air or hydraulic pressure.
WARNING: The material contains carbon dioxide (CO
2
) and
must be sprayed in a well-ventilated area. While CO
2
is not
toxic, large concentrations of it can be hazardous.
