8.5 Operation on the VFD circuit breaker
With SK 2xxE variable frequency drives (except 115 V devices), leakage currents of > 40 mA are to be
expected if the line filter is active. In other words, an VFD personal protection circuit breaker must be
avoided if possible.
If the variable frequency drive is going to be operated with an VFD personal protection circuit breaker,
the leakage currents against PE could be reduced to 10 - 20 mA jumpers. However, the VFD loses its
specified interference suppression level because of "operation on IT network".
Only all-current sensitive VFD circuit breakers (type B or B+) must be used.
