NIO App
To close the tailgate on NIO app, when the vehicle is in PARK with four doors
closed, tap My Car > Tailgate. You will be notified if the tailgate is closed
successfully. If the tailgate is obstructed when closing, you will be notified that
the tailgate is not closed successfully.
Caution
This operation is only available when the vehicle is connected to the Internet.
Tailgate Anti-Pinch
The tailgate has the anti-pinch feature.
If a solid object prevents the tailgate from opening or closing, the tailgate will stop
the upward or downward motion and the anti-pinch feature is engaged.
• If the tailgate is obstructed when opening, it will stop and sound a long alert.
• If the tailgate is obstructed when closing, it will stop, sound a long alert and
move to the opposite direction for a short distance.
Warning
To reduce the risk of being pinched, ensure that no one is near the liftgate
operating area before opening or closing the liftgate.
