Operational safety
WARNING
Ensure the patient or operator's arm is
NOT
trapped or impacted when the table height
is adjusted.
Do
NOT
tilt the table. Ensure the table is used on a flat and even surface.
You
MUST
ensure that there are no obstructions when adjusting the height of the table.
If the table continues to move without a button being pressed, move the patient away
from the table.
If the table continues to move after you have pressed a button, stop the table by
pressing the button that moves the table in the opposite direction. Try either button. If
this does
NOT
work, remove the plug from the mains socket.
CAUTION
If you suspect the table is faulty, contact your Optos representative.
In a medical environment, the Optos Table should be installed by Optos trained
personnel or by your site biomedical team.

Using the table with an ophthalmoscope:
l
Refer to your device instructions for use.
l
The ophthalmoscope
MUST
be positioned in the middle of the table width.
l
The front of the ophthalmoscope
MUST
be inline with the front of the table.
l
The patient
MUST NOT
be unattended at the table.
l
The patient
MUST NOT
touch the table controls.
CAUTION
The table is
NOT
designed to support a person.
The table weighs 53 kg (117 lbs). Do not attempt to lift the table.
Ensure all wheels are unlocked before moving the table.
EMC safety
CAUTION
In order to provide reasonable interference protection against radio communication
services, this device has been tested and complies with 47 CFR Part 15, Sub Part B of
the FCC (U.S.A.) rules and IEC/EN 60601-1-2 standard requirements at the premises
of a typical user, and the CISPR11 standard emission limits (CISPR11 Group 1 Class
B).
Although compliant with all applicable international EMC standards, the equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy. The equipment may cause
radio frequency interference to other medical and non-medical devices and radio
communications nearby.
There is no guarantee that interference will
NOT
occur in a particular installation.
If this table is found to cause interference (which may be determined by turning the
equipment
ON
and
OFF
), the user or qualified service personnel should attempt to
correct the problem by one or more of the following measures:

Relocate the affected device or devices.

Increase the separation between the equipment and the affected device.

Consult your Optos representative for further suggestions.

Do

Electrical safety
WARNING
Electrical Shock Protection - Class 1 Equipment
Type B - relates to the allowable maximum leakage current which can flow from the
applied part. The limits for this are defined in IEC/EN 60601.
The table
MUST
be plugged directly into a wall socket. Do
NOT
plug into a power block
or extension cable.
To prevent electric shock:

Only use cables supplied by Optos.
l
Mains supply must be earthed.
l
The table may only be serviced by Optos trained personnel.
If the mains cable is damaged do not use the table and contact your Optos
representative.
Do
NOT
connect any peripherals to the table. Only use peripherals supplied with the
table. Independently sourced peripherals may
NOT
be compatible.
CAUTION
Ordinary equipment, without protection against ingress of water.
You must regularly inspect the table. If there is any damage please contact your Optos
representative.
Ensure the mains socket is easily accessible.
