To use the speakerphone:
NOTE: If there is background noise in your area, you may have diffi-
culty hearing a caller’s voice or messages.
HINT:
To listen only, press
P
under “Mute”. The display changes
from “Phone In Use” to “Phone Mute”, indicating that the
microphone is muted.
While the microphone is muted, you can hear incoming audio,
but a caller cannot hear any speech coming from your
i1000plus phone.
To speak, press
P
under “Mute” again. The display
changes from “Phone Mute” to “Phone In Use”, indicating that
the microphone is on.
Placing International Phone Calls
Nextel Worldwide Service allows for International Roaming of your
Nextel phone to other iDEN networks.
When dialing internationally, you can either enter the international
access code directly (011 in the United States) or use “Plus Dialing”.
NOTE: Your
phone’s default is “International Calls Restricted.” There-
fore, you must call Customer Care at 1-800-639-6111 to obtain
international dialing access.
Plus Dialing
This feature enables you to place an international call from most
countries—without entering the local international access code.
Press
P
under “Spkr”. The “Spkr” option flashes while the
speakerphone is on.

Press and hold
0
for two seconds. A “0” appears, then
changes to a “+”.
NOTE: The network translates the “+” into the appropriate interna-
tional access code needed to place the call.

Enter the country code, city code, and phone number.
