Below is a description of each Setup item
OS VERSION
This screen shows the Operating System (FW) version loaded into your Newton.
ON FAST REC (PowerStroke Recording)
If you have PowerStroke installed on your Newton, this screen lets you turn PowerStroke
recording on or off. (PowerStroke uses fast, 16 times-per-second data recording. See
Appendix 1, page 43).
To turn PowerStroke on click the center button; “off” flashes. Use any arrow to select “on”.
Click the center button to accept, then exit Setup.
To turn PowerStroke off, click center button, select “off” then click the center button to
accept.
TIP:
WHEN YOU AWAKEN THE NEWTON FROM SLEEP, IF POWERSTROKE RECORDING IS
ENABLED THE MESSAGE “ON FAST REC” WILL APPEAR. CLICK THE CENTER BUTTON TO
ACCEPT AND RECORD IN POWERSTROKE MODE. OR, TO TURN OFF POWERSTROKE
RECORDING, PRESS-HOLD THE CENTER BUTTON UNTIL “ON” FLASHES. THEN, CLICK
ARROW TO SELECT OFF, THEN CLICK CENTER BUTTON TO ACCEPT.
CAL RIDE
To start a Cal Ride, click the center button. See pages 10 for details.
TIP:
TO ABORT A CAL RIDE, PRESS-HOLD THE CENTER BUTTON.
SET PROF
To select an active profile, click the center button. The number of the profile currently
active is shown in the bottom window. Click the top/bottom arrow to change the active
profile. Click the center button to accept. “Done” flashes.
TIP:
AUTOMATIC PROFILE SELECTON (APS) AUTOMATICALLY SELECTS THE PROFILE THAT
IS CORRECT FOR THE BICYCLE USED ON TODAY’S RIDE.
