Safe Operating Practices
1. Newage Gas appliance must be assembled and installed according to the instructions in the manual.
2. Read the entire instruction manual prior to operating the side burner.
3. NewAge Side burner must be used outdoors in a well ventilated area, and cannot be used indoors, in a
enclosed area such as a garage, gazebo, screened in porch or other similar enclosed area.
4. NewAge Gas appliances are not designed or certified for and are not to be installed in or on recreational
vehicles, portable trailers, boats.
5. Never use the side burner in windy conditions. If located in a consistently windy area, oceanfront,
mountaintop, etc., a windbreak will be required. Always adhere to the specified clearances as described
in the INSTALLATION section of this manual.
6. Do not modify the NewAge side burner.
7. Do not operate the NewAge side burner under, or near combustible construction.
8. Maintain proper clearance to combustibles, 18” (457 mm)to rear of unit, 14” (356mm) to sides. Additional
clearance of 32” (810mm) is recommended near vinyl siding or panes of glass.
9. When not in use turn off the gas at the supply valve.
10. If using a Propane cylinder (propane tank) always shut off the main valve on the Propane gas cylinder
after each use.
11. Never use dented, rusty or damaged propane cylinders.
12. A spare Propane gas tank cannot be stored below the gas appliance.
13. Never attach or disconnect a Propane gas cylinder, or move or alter gas fittings when the side burner is
in operation or is hot.
14. Use only propane cylinders with a QCC1 type connection.
15. When the propane cylinder is connected to the appliance, the gas appliance and cylinder must be stored
outdoors in a well-ventilated space.
16. When the gas side burner is to be stored indoors, the connection between the propane cylinder and the
side burner must be disconnected and the cylinder removed and stored outdoors in a well ventilated
space out of reach of children. Disconnected cylinders must not be stored in a building, garage or any
other enclosed area.
17. Inspect the fuel supply hose before each use. If there is evidence of excessive abrasion or wear or
the hose is cut, it must be replaced prior to using the side burner with a replacement hose assembly
specified by the grill manufacturer.
18. Leak test the unit before initial use, annually, and whenever any gas components are replaced. Use only a
Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) protected circuit with this outdoor cooking gas appliance.
19. Follow lighting instructions carefully when operating the side burner.
20. Burner controls must be off when turning supply cylinder valve on.
21. The side burner lid must be fully opened while lighting the side burner. Failure to do so will risk an
explosion, and personal injury or death.
22. Never lean over the side burner and keep face away from the side burner when lighting.
23. Never let the gas hose touch the bottom of the burner box.
24. Don’t push the electrical cable into the side burner enclosure.
25. Do not leave Side burner unattended when operating.
