TRUCK REQUIREMENTS
In mounting the L3020G4 spreader on a truck, the following major questions must be considered:
1.
Is the CA (Cab to Axle) dimension of the truck correct for the length of the spreader?
To answer this question, see the Dimensions chart on page 20. This will assist in matching
spreader to truck.
2.
Is the truck’s GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) and the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight
Rating) adequate to carry the fully loaded spreader?
To answer this question, refer to your New Leader dealer. He knows where to find the
GAWR and GVWR for most trucks, and how to calculate the weight distribution on each
axle and total loaded vehicle weight.
Do not select a PTO % and an engine RPM resulting in more than 3000 PTO
RPM. Driving the pumps (referenced above) at speeds greater than 3000 RPM
will result in premature failure of the pump and other hydraulic components.
