The NERVURES team thanks you for showing your confidence in
buying a Gypaaile Estive. We hope this paraglider will bring you the joy of
flight over and over again. To make sure this happens, we suggest you
study this manual, which also serves as the identification document, and
as the record of service and modification of your paraglider.
It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure that the paraglider has
been test flown by the dealer, and that the test results have been entered
into the test certificates. We ask you to send back to us one of the
certificates (which is a condition of the year’s guarantee). Sending this
back will allow us to contact you without delay in the unlikely event that a
problem is discovered with this model or its materials.
We strongly recommend that you keep this manual up to date, and
to pass it to the purchaser if you sell your wing.
We have designed the Estive to offer paraglider pilots a light,
simple machine that is easy to handle, pleasant and has good
performance.
WARNING
The Estive is designed and made with safety in mind. Its
performance gives access to a vast range of flight. Like any aircraft, this
equipment demands that its pilot be mature, capable of analysing flight
conditions, competent and always careful to keep the equipment in good
condition.
MAINTENANCE
Check yourself, or with help from your dealer, with an air speed
indicator, the speed of your wing with “hands up”. If the speed is more
than 3 km/hour below the published range of speeds, the line lengths
should be thoroughly checked.
If necessary, use cold water, and plain soap, to keep your wing
clean.
Never store the wing when it is damp or dirty.
Every paraglider is subject to ageing and needs to be checked
regularly (about every 100 flying hours, or at least every year). You
should frequently check the lower lines. Make these comparisons: A/B =
+ 2cm, C/B = 10 cm within a tolerance of +/- 1 cm.
We urge you to be very careful to check for any damage, abrasion
or cut in the rigging or sail, and to make rapid repairs.
You should pay special attention in every pre-flight check to the
fastening of the maillons, particularly those that connect the risers to the
harness.
If you need to return your wing to the factory, for repair or
checking, make sure you send
•
the complete wing (with risers and the original rucksack, but without
the harness),
