5.10 Cleaning
The appliance must be operating, the hose must be disconnected and the flap valve closed
before cleaning takes place. Press 3–4 times. This is to build up sufficient vacuum in the
container.
5.10.1 Maintenance
•
Check the seal and the lever’s function.

Using 30S/55S Series
The appliance can be used for several different applications e.g. cleaning, vacuum cleaning,
vacuuming metal chips from hand-held grinding and cutting machines, for welding smoke, etc.
However, note the limitations in the Chapter
. Oil mist tends to clog the filters.
The collecting receptacle should be emptied before it has reached 2/3 of its volume. Clean the
filter before the appliance is stopped and unplug the connector from the mains.
Use an approved breathing mask if the dust is health-impairing.
Disconnect the receptacle and pull it to the side. Tie up the sack. Insert a new sack and ensure
that it fills the receptacle.
6.1
Connection/start
NOTE!
During starting, the appliance may move in a sideways direction. You should therefore
always be sure to hold onto the appliance when starting.
6.1.1
Connecting and starting 30S
Before starting for the first time, the electrical connector should be fitted by a person with the
necessary knowledge and the overload protector’s setting checked.
For setting values, see instructions in Starter. The suction hose is connected to the flap valve.
The starting handle makes it possible to start in both directions of rotation. When starting,
check the rotational direction of the motor, compare with arrow. In the right direction, allow
the motor to reach full revs. If the rotation is in the wrong direction, turn back to zero, allow
the motor to stop and then start in the other direction.
In the wrong direction, the back-flush valve prevents air from being sucked backwards through
the appliance.
NOTE!
The fan can become very hot, even during normal operation. Prevent overheating by
ensuring that a flow of air passes the fan. Obstructing hoses, a closed flap valve or the motor
rotating in the wrong direction can cause overheating..
6.1.2
Connecting and starting 55S, with side channel fan
Before starting for the first time, the electrical connector should be fitted by a person with
the necessary knowledge and the overload protector’s setting checked. For setting values, see
instructions in Starter.
The suction hose is connected to the flap valve. The starting handle makes Y/D start possible in
both rotational directions. When starting, the hand lever for filter cleaning should be pressed
in and the motor’s direction of rotation compared with the arrow. When the rotation is in the
right direction, allow the motor to reach full revs before switching to D position. Then release
the hand lever.
