5.11 Setting Gain
Gain can be adjusted via the camera control registers.
Setting is done through the DigitalGain and AnalogGain registers (See 5.1)
The digital gain setting value (0 to 688) follows the below formula:
GAIN(dB)=(VAL × 0.03125)
The camera gain can also be adjusted using the 5 steps of Analog Gain (0dB,
3dB, 6dB, 9dB, -3dB)
If the camera gain level is set too low, the camera’s output data may not attain
its full range.
If the camera gain level is set too high, the ratio of random noise increases. Set
the gain as low as your application allows in order to attain the highest quality
signal possible.
In some cases, it may be necessary to use an IR cut filter.

Gain and noise values are proportionally related.
Adjust the amount of gain in accordance with the requirements of your camera
