Restoring System Files in DOS
System Restore requires booting from the Restore CD. Use the following
procedure to start the system restore procedure. The procedure takes about
10 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of your hard disk.
1.
Insert the Restore CD into the system’s CD-ROM reader.
NOTE
If you have an unformatted hard disk or a hard disk formatted
with an operating system other than MS-DOS or Windows 95 (i.e.,
UNIX, NTFS, OS/2) installed in your NEC Versa when you boot from
the CD, hard disk reformatting begins immediately. You do not have
the option of choosing a type of restore procedure.
2.
Power on the NEC Versa 6200MX system.
3.
Select “System Restore” to restore your system to its original shipping
state.
4.
Read the System Restore explanation screen and press the “Continue”
button to proceed.
A license agreement appears.
!
CAUTION
Once you accept the license agreement, the restoration process
begins. Restoration deletes
all files from the hard disk drive.
5.
Read the license agreement and click “I agree” to start the System Re-
store process.
!
CAUTION
Do not interrupt the System Restore process. Wait until the proce-
dure is complete before accessing your system.
