ROBLEMS
The following situations are PostScript language specific and
may occur when several printer languages are being used.
note:
To receive a printed or screen displayed message
when PS errors occur, open the
Print Options
dialog box
nd click the desired selection next to the
PostScript errors
section.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
PostScript file
cannot be
printed. The PostScript
option may not be
installed, or the
installed memory
may be
insufficient. • Print a configuration page
and verify that the PS
version is available for
printing, and that total
system memory is at least
12MB.
• If PostScript is not
available, install the
PostScript option.
• If system memory is not at
least 12MB, install an 8MB
SIMM.
“This job
contains binary
data …”
message
appears. The pure binary
data option is not
supported by the
PostScript driver. Open the Properties of the
PostScript driver, click on
PostScript, and click on
Advanced button. The pure
binary data option is not
supported. Choose another.
The job prints
in Courier
instead of the
typeface you
used. The typeface is
not downloaded. • Download the desired font
and send the print job
again.
• Verify the type and location
of the font.
• Download to the printer if
applicable.
• Check with the software
documentation.
A legal page
prints with
clipped
margins. Print job is too
complex. Simplify the page or print at a
lower resolution.
Add more printer memory.
A PS error page
prints. Print job may not
be PS. • Make sure that the print job
is a PS job.
• Check to see whether the
software application
expected a setup or PS
header file to be sent to the
printer.
The optional
tray 2 is not
selected in the
driver. The printer driver
has not been
configured to
recognize the
optional tray 2. Open the PostScript driver
properties and set the Option
Tray item of Device option to
Installed.
