6.3 Addition of Cache Memory
CAUTION
Note that foreign substances such as water and metal must not get into the
product during the following process. Failure to assure this may cause device
failure, electric shock, and/or fire to occur.
Do not allow the connector terminals to become short-circuited. Do not pour water
or liquid on terminals. Failure to follow these guidelines may cause device fault or
electric shock to occur.
Note that the inside of the Disk Array unit has sharp edges, electrical connections
and other potential dangers to your hands and fingers.
Do not disassemble or modify the cache memory. Failure to do this may cause
the unit to become defective.
The disk array unit is normally equipped with two 1GB cache memory cards on each controller.
To use a larger quantity of cache memory for improving the performance features of the disk array unit,
up to four cache memory cards can be added for each controller.

Cache memories with different capacities may not coexist in a specific controller.
CONT0 must have cache memories with the same capacities as those installed in
CONT1.
NF2900-SC01E is composed of four 1GB cache memory cards. Install two cache memory cards in
empty slots of each of the two controllers.
NF2900-SC02E/SC03E is composed of eight 2GB cache memory cards. Install four cache memory
cards in empty slots of each of the two controllers.
