Chapter 2 Preparations
1.14.1
Installation
Install a backup device by using the following procedure. The procedure will be described, focusing on
installing the SCSI file device option.
1.
Specify the settings of the device.
The settings for the device to be installed to the device bay is as follows:

Termination resistor OFF*
* Because the internal SCSI cable K410-181(00) available as an option is attached to the terminator, set the
termination resistance of the device to OFF.
Important If a SCSI device is installed, specify an SCSI ID that is not already used by
another external SCSI device that is connected to the same controller.

for preparations.
3.
Remove the side cover and front bezel while referring to
Chapter 2 (1.4 Removing the Side Cover
and
1.5 Removing the Front Bezel)
.
4.
While pressing the tab on the right, pull the blank
panel out.
5.
Remove the four screws from the blank panel and
detach the rails.
6.
Attach the rails to the backup device.
Important
•
Keep the removed blank panel for future use.
•
Use screw set 502 supplied with this server to attach the rails to the backup
device.
