Upgrading Your Server 9-15

NOTES:

Up to 64GB memory can be added.

In the normal state, the CPU blade does not contain memory. The
memory is a required option.

Adding Order and Precautions

Number of DIMMs to be installed depends on its specification.
Registered DIMM: Can be installed one by one.
Unbuffered DIMM: Must be installed two in pair.

Two DIMMs must be the same capacity and same speed if they are of unbuffered type.
(Check the labels on the DIMM board.)

Install the first pair into slots #1 and #2, then the second pair in slots #3 and #4 if DIMMs
of unbuffered type are used.

If you install N8402-040 8GB DIMM (Quad-Rank) and other DIMM in the following slot,
be sure to install 8GB memory board in the slot having the smaller number
(CPU1_DIMM3 or CPU2_DIMM3).
