Chapter 7: Expanding a CableFREE
Network
This chapter explains how you can add additional CableFREE PCs to your
network. You can either add a new CableFREE PC or upgrade an existing wired
network PC to CableFREE. This chapter also shows you how to upgrade your
CableFREE Network to use Broadband Internet access via a NetBlaster, and how
to switch your “CableFREE network with a NetBlaster” to a CableFREE Network
without a NetBlaster.
7.1 Adding Additional CableFREE PCs to Your Network

Choose a CableFREE package. There are four packages for expanding
your CableFREE network:

CableFREE Desktop Starter Kit (NCF220 (NW680SK in Europe), to
add two desktop PCs)

CableFREE Combo Starter Kit (NCF221 (NW680CD in Europe), to
add one desktop and one notebook PC)
§§
CableFREE PCI Single Pack (NCF130 (NW 630A-S in Europe), to add
a desktop PC)
§§
CableFREE Notebook Single Pack (NCF110 (NW610A-S in Europe),
to add a notebook PC)

7.2 Adding a CableFREE NetBlaster to Your CableFREE
Network for Broadband Internet Access
1.
Connect the NetBlaster to the Cable/xDSL modem

Power on the NetBlaster

Check “Connect with NetBlaster” (
Figure 74
) in the CableFREE
Utility/Network Profiles, and input the NetBlaster ID on each computer (the
NetBlaster ID is on the base of the NetBlaster)
