Remote inputs
In the
Remote I/O
page, use the
Inputs
tab parameters (see
) to configure up to 16
remote inputs that allow you to remotely control various operational characteristics of the transmitter.
Unless otherwise noted these inputs are only accepted by the transmitter if the
Remote/Local
status
(bottom panel of any AUI page) is set to
Remote
. That setting can only be selected by a local user
using the front panel AUI.
Nautel sets remote input defaults prior to shipping. See the
NX50 Pre-installation Manual
for details. If
necessary, re-configure the remote inputs as follows:

1. On the left side of the page,
select the desired remote input (1 through 16) from the list.
Note: you can configure remote inputs 1 through 16 for one of a variety of control inputs.
2. On the right side of the page, assign a name to the digital input by pressing the
Channel
bar
and selecting one of the following options:
•
Not Assigned
- has no effect on transmitter operation, regardless of logic level.
•
RF On/Off
- tells the system to provide RF power, if possible (same as pressing the
RF On
or
the
Rf Off
button on the AUI).
•
Reset
- causes a system reset.
•
Inc/Dec RF Power
- tells the system to increase (if possible) or decrease output carrier power.
•
Main Exciter
- selects the main exciter to operate the transmitter.
•
Auto Changeover
- enables (on)/disables (off) the automatic exciter changeover function.
