• Carefully slide the full-length copper tube assembly in and guide the end through the
large holes in the “Teflon Support Plates” between the cabinets until it is within six
inches (150 mm) of the opposite end of the control cabinet.
• Obtain a Nautel Part # 207-8248-28 “Spacer”. Insert the spacer between the end of the
copper tube assembly and the copper angle mounted in the control cabinet. Insert the
copper tube assembly the remaining distance. Secure the end of the copper tube
assembly to the copper angle using an M12 bolt, through the spacer, Belleville washer
and flat washer, torqued to 275 in-lbs (31 N-m).
20. Repeat Step 19 for the lower copper tube assembly, noting the Nautel Part # identification.
21. Locate and unpack current probes A4A66 (Nautel Part # 207-6213-05) and A4A69 (Nautel
Part # 207-6213-06) in the ancillary crate. The hardware required to install them is bagged
and attached to each current probe.
22. Install current probe A4A69 at the side cabinet (cabinet 4) end of the “upper” copper tube
installed in Step 19 (see Figure 3.5 on page 3-11 ), using three sets of M8 hardware on the
side and an M12 bolt, Belleville washer and flat washer on the end. Torque the M12 bolt to
275 in-lbs (31 N-m).
23. Install current probe A4A66 at the side cabinet (cabinet 4) end of the “lower” copper tube
installed in Step 20 (see Figure 3.5 on page 3-11 ), using three sets of M8 hardware on the
side and an M12 bolt, Belleville washer and flat washer on the end. Torque the M12 bolt to
275 in-lbs (31 N-m).
24. Locate the cables terminated by BNC connectors P23, P35 and P36 tyrapped in the side
cabinet (cabinet 4). Cut securing tyraps and neatly route the cables to the vicinity of the
current probes (A4A66 and A4A69). Connect P23 and P36 to J1 and J2, respectively of the
upper current probe A4A69. Connect P35 to T1J1 of the lower current probe (A4A66).
25. Re-install the four side cover plates removed in Step 18 .
26. Locate six “Combiner Splice Plates” (Nautel Part # 207-8140-09), packed in the transmitter.
27. Install the combiner splice plates, as shown in Figure 3.5 on page 3-11 , between the existing
combiner covers in each cabinet. Install two plates between the upper and lower combiner
covers in cabinets 1 and 2, cabinets 2 and 3, and cabinets 3 and 4. Secure each plate using M8
hardware already in the combiner covers.
