Turn-on delay
This system setting (see
Figure 2.57
) allows users to delay the start-up (RF on) of the transmitter
when recovering from an ac power loss, in order to limit the simultaneous power demand from
multiple transmitters on a common generator by staggering their turn on sequence. Enter a value in
the allowable range of 0-120 seconds, defaulted to 0 seconds (disabled).

Defaults
The
Defaults
page stores the default settings for RF module IPA bias and PA bias (see
Figure 2.58
on page 2-77
) as a function of mode (
Bias
tab). It also stores the default Exciter power level based on
transmitter type and default IPA output power (referenced to 98MHz) via the
Power
tab (see
Figure 2.59 on page 2-77
). These settings are fixed and should require no adjustment by the user.
The transmitter RF modules store bias values in EEPROM that are pre-determined at the factory for
optimal operation of the IPA and PAs for each available mode. These varying levels of bias values
are stored in indexes 1 through 5, with index 0 having 0 bias stored (0 being the lowest amount of
bias, 5 being the highest). The IPA and PA index values are set based on the bias requirements of
each mode.
Note:
The transmitter automatically adjusts the actual IPA Power set-point based on the preset
frequency (as a function of a pre-determined frequency response), with the reference power level
value being at 98MHz
.
