Patient safety
The patient should be disconnected from the V-Series amplifier when high frequency
surgical equipment is used.
To prevent patient injury or equipment damage, use only accessories and electrodes
identified for use with this device (see instructions for the electrodes you are using).
If an electrode/sensor is damaged in any way, discontinue use immediately.
The correct use of the amplifier system is to monitor and record physiological signals for
EEG (electroencephalography) or PSG (polysomnography).
Although this system can be used to monitor biopotentials like ECG, this system should not
be used as an electrocardiograph or for vital signs monitoring.
An EEG or PSG is to be used only by or on the order of medically trained personnel.
The appliance coupler (AC Cordset) is the means for disconnecting the V-Series amplifier
from the power mains.
While the patient is connected to the system, the operator should not come into contact with
any metal part of the V-Series amplifier or monitoring computer and the patient
simultaneously.
